San Francisco to ban employer cafeterias

Long established perk working for high tech companies is the employer cafeteria, casual dress and even sometimes free beer on Fridays. The City is now proposing to ban the cafeteria in hopes of improving local businesses.

A similar ban has already been enacted in Mountain View, Calif., another tech-heavy city in the Bay Area. Facebook is opening a new office there in November and would be affected by the ban, if it passes.

Everyone will then have to rush around getting something and paying more to get it. Or spend their own time fixing their lunch at home. It is the consumer loosing choice of convenience and possibly cheaper prices.
