Recently I turned my computer on and it went through all the stages leading up to the welcome screen, but then it'd start flickering black and at one stage it allowed me to get onto the desktop before the screen went from black to desktop and then back to the black screen, then the monitor went onto standby, the keyboard and mouse stopped working and only the computer seemed to be turned on.
I can run it in safe mode, and I read it might of been the video card driver, so I initially updated that, which didn't work, so I changed video card which still didn't work. Upon logging into safe mode I'm told if I want to perform a system restore I need to restart the computer, but this is just a continous loop.
I'm running Windows XP Professional SP3, with nVidia GF4-MX440 with AGP8X. I don't really have the money for a new computer at this moment, so some help with this would be really appreciated.
