Ok, I downloaded those programs and also updated at WindowsUpdate. My compter is set for automatic updates but all that junk was stopping the updates from going through. So far everything seems to be going good. I'm going to let it defrag and let you know from there!

Ok, after the defrag it runs SO much better! Only problem now is there seems to be something wrong with windows update. I noticed this when all the other problems too and its the only thing that hasn't gone away. I went online and downloaded several things from Windows Update, including the patch K2418241 Its a "Security Update for Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1 on Windows Server 203 and XP86" This update was set to download right when all this happened and I downloaded and installed it and restarted the computer at least a dozen times and each time the little shield tells me that this patch needs to be downloaded and installed. I tried to install it from the Update website and it still isn't taking.

Other than this, all is well!!

I'm glad to hear good news :)

Is the .NET Framework the only update, which doesn't want to update?

OK, go back to "Add\Remove" and uninstall all .NET Framework versions.
You only need them, when some program ask for it.
Run computer normally and, if some program will ask for any .NET Framework version, install fresh copy.

Good luck and stay safe :)

Ok, I installed that and yep, that fixed the update problems.

I think its all good now. Thank you SOOOOOOOO much for your help! You are a true life saver!!

So... if its not one thing its another!

I went to open Frostwire today and got the error message "Frostwire was unable to load the Java Runtime Enviroment. Please download and install a newer version from www.java.com" but when I go to Java.com to download, it tells me that I am running the newest version.

I unistalled Frostwire and reinstalled it and got the same error.

At this point....

In this forum, we make sure, your computer is free of malware and your computer is clean :)
Because the access to malware forum is very limited, your best option is to create new topic about your current issue, at Windows section.
You'll get more attention.

Good luck :)
