I very recently purchased a new laptop and was very happy knowing I'd be able to play all my sims games (old computer couldn't hack it). However, after I installed just the original DVD edition sims 2 disc, I attempted to play it and within 2 minutes on the C-A-S screen the game crashed. I got a message saying "The application has crashed. The application will now terminate". I have attempted this like 15 times now and always the same result. I'm really frustrated about it considering this game works with my crappy old computer, but not my modern and expensive laptop lol.

6gb RAM
750GB Hard drive
Windows 8 64-bit
DirectX 11
Intel HD Graphics 4000
