Smallest format for a voice recorder

  1. I have a Sony voice recorder that records in .dvf format (Digital Voice Editor). It seems as if that format is going extinct, as everyone uses .mp3. However, .dvf would record in, for example 3MB.....whereas the same file would be 60MB in mp3.

    What is the greatest compression I can find? Or is there a conversion program I can use.

    I am looking for what would take up the least cloud storage.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    I found this
    stating DVF is a Sony format and it can be saved as a WAV file (comparative size unknown).

    Sometimes you need to perform a multiple step transform to get where you want to be;
    • DVF => X => Desired
