Sony PlayStation Phone gets a 12-page preview

If you didn't think the Sony PlayStation Phone existed, you'll be convinced soon enough. The device has received a 12-page preview, full of pictures and videos, courtesy of the Chinese website IT168.

The Xperia-branded phone will reportedly be powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon QSD8255 CPU and a Qualcomm Adreno 205 GPU. Previous preliminary benchmarks for the device have now been destroyed, as this later revision apparently gets 59.1FPS on the Neocore OpenGL-ES 1.1 graphics performance benchmark and 1,733 on the Aurora Softworks' Quadrant benchmark.

The device will reportedly also feature a 1,500mAh battery, a 854x480 4-inch LCD, a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, 512MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM, a microSD slot, SIM slot, micro-USB, accelerometer, and a second microphone on the back for active noise cancellation. It's still running device Android 2.3 (codenamed Gingerbread) with a custom Sony Ericsson skin, like it was last month, and not Android 2.4 like another Sony phone we know. The game launcher app is now called PlayStation Pocket, though it's still annoyingly empty.

LOL @ All Above: Yeah, a 1 Ghz Snapdragon and a dedicated GPU, on a 1500 mAh Battery, that's a joke. My Droid 2 has a 1500 mAh battery with a 1Ghz OMAP CPU and no dedicated GPU and I can play games for about... I don't know, 3-4 hours. No Tegra 2 is definitely a loss. It seems that this is just a regular Android phone with a dedicated GPU, In my opinion it will have a tough time with the rest of them.
