Sound comes 1 sec delayed in the beginning

Hello guys, I have a new pc with my Samsung 5.1 home theater system. In my pc I have MSI Pro H610m-e motherboard which doesn't have an optical (digital) sound output. My sound system only has optical input so I bought a sound card, Asus Xonar SE. I connected it and updated the drivers but it has a porblem. Whenever I want to play a sound, it gives no sound for 1-2 secs and then starts to work normal. This happens for every kind of sound, movies, youtube, windows sounds etc. For example if I go forward or backwards in a video again it goes silent for 1-2 sec and then continues normally. I tried updating driver, disabling onboard sound card, checking the cables. please help me cause I paid a lot for this system. My native language is not English so I hope I could have expressed myself.

Your English is great! It sounds like a sync issue. Try this:

  • Go to your Asus Xonar SE sound card software settings.
  • Look for options related to "audio delay" or "buffer size".
  • Try adjusting these settings to see if it reduces the 1-2 second delay.

Hi Nelson, I will try these too but I guess I solved the problem. When I changed the sound option to be 16 bit at frequencies lower than 44kHz the problem seems to be solved. But in this way I lose the quality. I will check other options too. I have another problem. When I test my system with dolby test sounds or Windows testing sounds I hear sound from all channels, but when I play a movie with 5.1 sound, I cannot get sound from rear channels. Do you have any idea why would this happen?
