About three weeks ago I performed a full system recovery. After the recovery was complete I discovered that I had no sound, not even system sounds, from the rear audio outputs. The front headphone jack works with both my stereo speakers and with the front speakers of my 5.1 surround. I have been having this problem for three weeks and I have been searching for a solution to this problem on this forum and many others and I still have not found a solution that works for my particular situation. I have uninstalled/reinstalled drivers, updated drivers, updating chipset driver, multiple reformats, checked bios settings etc. but still no sound from the rear outputs. I am considering purchasing another sound card but I don't have any available pci slots. This is really frustrating and I am about to toss the whole computer off a bridge so any insight would be helpful.
