They’ve also used loans to build the data centers which require them to pay back interest. Again, citation needed. What you wrote is an unproven, forward-looking theory.

It’s also wrong. The compute market is obviously supply constrained, and that’s why Anthropic and Google are buying from their competitor. No one is projecting that to change any time soon.

Furthermore, as SpaceX’s AI revenue tripled quarter over quarter in Q2, operating losses from its AI business halved. A billion of anything is beyond the average human mind to even picture, let alone fully comprehend. Yet here we now are, talking 10s & 100s of billions as though it's the most normal & 'natural' thing in the world.

I can remember when "billionaires" were quite a rarity. Now it's "trillionaires".

Whatever you try to build, it will affect some slug or cockroach. Should we really sacrifice space exploration to preserve cockroaches?

I don't know, my first thought was, what a lovely place to drown SpaceX. I mean, that whole area is focus of so many storms and rising water. It's perfect.

Speaking as a complete layman, I think SpaceX has done incredibly well with the re-use etc. of their Falcon 9 gear. But hell...........Starship is so ****ing BIG!! I don't foresee them having that monster as reusable gear for a LONG time yet. But you know, more power to their elbow. I get that some people detest Elon Musk, but shoot, do we really want the Chinese to be in a superior position when it come to colonizing the moon?

I don't see why not. It's fair game for anyone to go there.

All this hate against Musk...Bezos and others just cracks me up.
Are they the best people in the world? No, but every time someone goes against these people spending money to make money, especially for space exploration and what not just ticks me off.
America and a lot of the west just sits on their hands, doesn't innovate anything any more. Too busy doom scrolling on their phones. All the while, countries like CHINA are building and innovating things and will eventually control the world!

Wasn't that why Nixon first went to China? They just copied us and then made improvements. I'd be perfectly happy to have one of their electric vehicles if only we could pay for enough charging stations that every apartment complex could afford to put at least one on their property.
