I think Tmagic has the right idea, sounds like you need to reinstall windows. There are ways of repairing windows but its not easy and not worth the time spend. Before you reformat make sure you save your important files to a DVD/CD and anything else. Once reinstalled use a proven antivirus scanner like Bitdefender or Kaspersky to scan your documents before you copy them back to your computer, if there are files on the CD/DVD that are infected, find the location and do not copy it across, the antivirus scanners cannot delete files from a CD/DVD.

I've reintalled my computer twice with those recovery disc ever since I first seen the BSOD, no wonder it didn't solve the problem. How do obtain other set of recovery disc for my PC?

You might be able to get a set of recovery disc's from HP, or just do what I said and get a retail copy of XP from Best Buy or somewhere, reformat your hard drive and install XP fresh

I am going to order the recovery disc from HP.com, I regret I did not create those recovery disc immediately after I purchase my window xp, sigh

Yes, all this trouble came from homemade recovery discs. I don't think they were "infected". They were made from an "infected" system, with damaged or altered operatintg system files...

Good Luck
