Sun Blade 1000 System

So I came across a Sun Systems Blade 1000 and I was told that I cannot simply plug in a monitor to the machine and use it like a regular PC. I was wondering if anyone could and would give me some laymen's term instructions on how to use one.

It's a SPARC machine. If it doesn't already have Solaris on it or if you want something more up to date, it would be ideal for Linux. You will probably need a graphics card - most likely it will have to be PCI - in order to hook up your monitor and get some use out of it.
