WTF?! Although it appears that TikTok will continue to be accessible in the US, many people were upset when they temporarily lost access to the app. One 19-year-old Wisconsin teen was so angry at the prospect of his beloved TikTok being banned that he set fire to a congressman's office.

Shortly after 1 am on Sunday, police officers with the City of Fond du Lac responded to reports of a fire at 525 N. Peters Avenue.

The burning building is leased by US Representative Glenn Grothman, one of the Republicans who voted in favor of the law forcing TikTok to sell its US operations or be banned in the United States.

Police later arrested a Menasha man on suspicion of setting the fire. Channel 3000 reports that he admitted to committing arson, which was a response to the TikTok ban.

The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire and no one was injured. Police officers used fire extinguishers to control the flames until firefighters arrived.

A photo of the office's charred door and air conditioner unit has been going viral on social media, writes Gizmodo.

The unnamed teen is being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail while the arson charge is being referred to the County District Attorney's Office.

It appears that the fire was started after TikTok stopped US users from accessing the app on Saturday, hours before the law banning the app came into effect.

The person responsible for the fire might regret his actions even more upon discovering that TikTok started restoring its US services on Sunday after Trump said he would sign an executive order to delay the ban, giving TikTok more time to reach a deal that will allow it to continue operating in the United States. Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform that he wanted a "joint venture" in which the US government would own 50% of the company. Exactly how that would work remains unclear, but it sounds as if Elon Musk won't be buying the app, which had been rumored.

Biden was for the ban, too. Well, whatever was left in that head of his. He signed the bill. Don't let them use partisan politics to turn you into a fool.
Of course Biden had to sign it after he saw a rare "bipartisan" push to do something...only if the poor Biden knew it was all a Trump's deceitful trick to make him look bad afterwards.

The idea of a TikTok ban has been around for almost 10 years and is not unique to the US. Do not let them use narrative to make a fool out of you. Does anyone remember Trumps push for a TikTok ban? Has the brain rot run this deep that people can't see past the last video they watched?

Of course people don't remember Trump pushing for the TikTok ban....because it's very convenient to forget when needed.

All you can do is arrest the people that do this crazy stuff. If he had shot someone people would be outraged and try to ban guns. In this Case should we ban matches? This type of behavior needs to made an example of. Maybe a good tar and feather.

Well, I suppose as far as violent protest goes at least this one was targeted at a lawmaker that actually has some political power & control over what the person was angry about. Far better than attacks on random people & businesses at least. Still really dumb, and the teen needs some prison time, but at least it is an understandable crime to me.

Used to be an option giving to some criminals. Jail or the military. Jail will not straighten him out discipline might
If he did go into the military, my bet is that only combat would straighten him out where he actually faces having to put his life on the line for his country.

Discipline, IMO, does not represent a sacrifice. He might simply think "cakewalk."

I think that the answer to this question is an obvious "YES".

Where have you been? This is the new normal, so get used to it. If Trump says something ridiculous today and then the exact opposite tomorrow his supporters will pretend the first part never happened. This has been happening for almost a decade now, since he descended the golden escalator. A large portion of the United States has completely lost its mind and any shred of human decency along with it.

PS. - Trump wasn't only for banning TikTok because it's a Chinese spying tool, but he was also totally against crypto because he saw it as a scam. He since realized the crypto scam is a great opportunity to fleece his clueless supporters, so now he's 100% for it!

Agree...You said it best.

I don't understand any consumer thinking the ban is a big deal. Won't all the same content creators post all the same stuff on similar platforms? Switch out the app or bookmark where you're used to clicking and you've got the same experience at the same place.
