I recently purchased a Radeon RX 9070 XT, and I really like AMD’s software interface. It is simple, clean, and makes the various settings easy to configure. Personally, I prefer it over NVIDIA’s software.
This is a great article, although I had already gone through most of these settings a few weeks ago with help from ChatGPT. I ended up with almost the same recommendations covered here.
One feature that did not work well for me was Radeon Chill. My 9070 XT tends to run at nearly 100% utilization and around 305 watts while gaming, even in menus, while paused, or during other low-demand scenes. That creates a lot of unnecessary heat and keeps both the GPU and system fans running hard.
I tried Radeon Chill hoping it would reduce power usage during those less demanding moments. It definitely lowered the frame rate, power consumption, and heat, but it did not seem to ramp performance back up properly during demanding gameplay. In the end, I turned it off.
I also like that you can set the FPS/GPU/system stats to only show during games. No need to use short cut commands to enable/disable.
I know there is a lot of "AMD drivers suck and crash", but after playing numerous games over the last few weeks, the 9070XT has run flawlessly. The Adrenaline software is also a nice touch.

So I should install Adrenalin Edition? I usually only install drivers, although AMD install managers still got installed despite me unchecking box to let AMD manage updates.

AV1 giving the best quality but being a pain to edit is the eternal codec tax.
The refresh rate section should be printed on a sticker and slapped on every monitor box. Half the "I can't tell the difference between 60Hz and 144Hz" takes online are just people who never left Windows on 60Hz after plugging in their fancy new panel.

AMD drivers are hit or miss with some people. I prefer AMD drivers as I have had no issues with it yet. Specially on my second boot with Linux. I am very selective about my settings. 2 Problems I do have with their drivers are.
One, where I stay we tend to have a lot of power outage. When this happens AMD drivers are reset to default. Was forced to save the settings to file and Two, AMD overlay is not supported by all games. I had quite a few games that would give problems with the overlay on. Forced to use afterburner and I am not a big fan of afterburner.

That also applies to nVidia drivers to as they've not had the greatest success record over the last couple of years
If you have frequent power outages then for the sake of your own data (not to mention sanity), invest in an UPS.
You should use the Export settings feature regardless since it's incredibly useful for a backup of Adrenalin settings.
