The Bugatti Chiron becomes the first hypercar to break the 300 mph barrier in a mind-bending...

As far as I know, electric cars are phenomenal at 0-60mph but tend to be weaker at higher acceleration. Regardless, our road users just aren't ready for cars that can hit 60mph in 1 second. I strongly believe that electric cars need to be regulated while on public roads, including limiting their acceleration performance and forcing them to make noise. But that's a discussion for another topic.
Right, we need more noise pollution like we need a hole in the head. Watch the ***** making noise with the hot ICE Mustang getting his doors blown off in a 1/4 mile by a larger and heavier Tesla S 126mph in 10.5 seconds.

Tesla is a one-trick pony, acceleration in a quarter-mile. Just make it an entire mile and it is slower than a turtle, and it lasts a century to reach top speed. Don´t give it a curve or, just one block acceleration straight-line races. Now, seriously, even though the Tesla Roadster would be capable of reaching record winning marks, Tesla will never release it, a supercar relatively affordable would mean a security and legal risk that Tesla is not positioned to face right now. Tesla is struggling to show financial stability and the last thing it wants it is crazy dudes killing themselves and their families going to the court and giving bad publicity, it would be speed limited for sure. Bugatti is another story, only the super millionaire con afford it, most of them are in collection garages full of Ferraris and Lambos and go out once in a while, very slowly, or take special classes with professional pilots, it is another story

Tesla performance is very impressive. Rimac Concept One (and soon Concept Two) even more impressive. NIO-EP9 also fantastic. But I'm waiting for a 5 megawatt monster that can beat a top-fuel dragster by the rules.

I want something electric (not necessarily running on batteries) that would run 1000 feet in 3.6 seconds. And then, when the "Megawatt" beast destroys the best ICE dragster, it could move a step further. Add automatic launch control, computer-controlled aerodynamics, stabilization and torque control, etc, to lift the bar even higher.
