The Most Anticipated PC Games of 2026: From Cult Classics to Blockbuster Returns

They all look the same to me. I am not buying another game until Dishonored III comes out and only if it is well reviewed. I may buy GTA 6 though because as we all know Tommy Vercetti is an innocent man.

Star Wars Xcom looks awesome.
GTA 6 obviously.
Slay the spire 2 - Hell yes!
Everything else.... meh.

Slay the Spire 2 being on the list feels like a cosmic joke ... roguelike deckbuilding in the same breath as GTA VI and Forza Horizon 6. I’m hype, but my wallet just filed for therapy.

Phantom Blade Zero invented an entire genre descriptor "kungfupunk" and somehow that's the least interesting thing about it. A 66-day death countdown, an assassin framed for murder, rain-soaked rooftops filtered through Unreal Engine 5. Chinese studios have been quietly cooking while everyone was busy ranking the millionth souls-like set in medieval Europe.

No rush with the new games 2026! I'm still working through my Christmas steam sale purchases!

No Man's Sky has been quite enjoyable but also kept me from everything but Split Fiction which is amazing for couch coop when a second person is available.

Ok, so let's see the standouts for me.

Replaced will need a playing of demo to determine. I'm not as into 2D/sidescroll/shooter/platform/metroidvania kind of things like I used to be but I do like the artwork here.

DoW4. One of 2-3 damn near certain first year buys for me, but which will end up the we have '40K at home' option, this or the Total War take on the IP?

Control: Resonant. Should probably finish Control first... That aside I'm liking the bigness of it but not so much the seeming turn to melee.

Subnautica 2. Ditto.

Crimson Desert. Likely but should probably finish... 'insert medieval/fantasy open world/RPG deal'.

Gears of War: E-Day. Yes but can I have the others on PC please (still haven't played 3 and never finished 5)

Gothic remake. Likely but as per Crimson Desert we will see.

GTAVI. Last game had a hilarious story but no longevity past that (with online not for me) so I hope this runs longer. Also compared to those foaming at the mouth since the reveal I can wait for this to release, fix, mature and discount.

Resident Evil: Requiem. Yes. The oldies were classics, the remakes of the oldies likewise and 7/8 were great. I only await reviews.

Any or all of these, bar DoW4, would cover about half my gaming habit/preference. One of my most looked forward to rn is Grand Tactician: Napoleon as I play much like it, so I hope with nothing similar coming from Creative Assembly/Total War that it's good.

The only one that is really exciting is "IT'S MA'AM", I mean Fable. I'm dying to see the reviews, in particular Az', of this masterpiece. Surely the M0dErN AuDiEnCe will turn up for this game and save the gaming industry, like they're saving that John of Arc demo that managed to get 80 players.

Fully with you there on Dishonored III.

First game was great. I thought the second was even better, one of my favourite games of all time.

The clockwork mansion peice was, IMO the best level design ever. Brilliant.

I don't get your post. Is Fable woke-infested? Is that what you're saying? And who is Az?

Same here, Rudy! I have literally just over 500 games. I have yet to start 70% of them.

Been buying all sorts until this year, when I stopped. Have some real gems, some highly regarded Indies, not started yet.

All these games will run great on my PC and will last until my death!! Literally.

The only exception would be, Dishonored III.

Edit: Last year I finished and got all chievo's on the wonderful but oldish game Subnautica.
Also played 100s of hour of WRC games, all purchased at huge discounts. Plus Oblivion re-make, and the new Alone in the Dark remake. Plus a few more.

All in all that's around 5 games that got a lot of attention. Plenty more, some gems await.
Not impressed with the very latest games of 2025, hence my stoppage of all purchases this year, except for that one beautiful, if realized special game that, if anything like the the first two will indeed be worth it.
