What does that "approval" mean in real life?link590o said:or it could be the motherboard isn't approved for vista.
i've been noticing more and more lately that motherboards are being stamped with approval.
Probably a hardware problem, not Vista. I'd return it.roseypeach said:I've had it for nearly a week now on my new laptop and all I've had thus far is one crash after another.
Go to network and sharing Center. You just need to go through the list and enable network discovery, file sharing, printer sharing and media sharing.I also have networking issues. I can connect to the internet no problem, however file sharing and printer sharing are miserable to the point that the Vista wizard and the XP wizards don't like each other and I'm no networking person. I've yet to 'see' my desktop and printer and I've been working on it for three days. Comcast says they'll hook it up but they want $50 to do it. Now bears the question am I willing to part with $50 over something I ought to be able to do myself?

I hope you enabled the Vista's own firewall after disabling Norton's.roseypeach said:I did updates on everything but still had the problem so I came here and guess what? Someone else was having the exact same issue. Fix?
Disable Norton Firewall. Something that came with it, believe me I hate Norton! Anyways, I can now "See" everything! Printer and desktop!
