I've been trying to follow the 8 step thingy in this forum because my computer is doing all sorts of crazy annoying stuff.
I was finding that I couldn't install super anti spyware or malwarebytes anti-malware.
I think whatever is infecting the computer knows you're trying to get rid of it when you're clicking these things so what I did to get round it is by renaming the install files from whatever they are originally (superantispyware.exe/mbam.exe or whatever) to something nondescript, e.g. blahblah.exe.
Once the things are installed go to where you've installed them and change the name of the exe file that the shortcut on your desktop points to, to something else random.
This will trick whatever nasty is invading your system and get your programs working.
