Torvalds blasts Nvidia over Linux support, gives them the middle finger during speech

Whatever you think of Linux or Nvidia, at the end of the day Linus Torvalds is no better than David Orcus.

AMD may support it and do what ever they can but - and this is big but - their chpsets suck big time. I have been an AMD fan for over 20 years. I always opted for via chipset for its stability and reliability. Around 3 years ago I built my 1st Phenom quad system with AMD chipset ( via being out of business in chipset department) on a MSI motherboard. It proved to be an unmitigated disaster. The USB implementation in the chipset was so bad even the onboard usb ports would frequently not recognise connected keyboard or mouse leave alone my USB connected KVM switch. I had to install an old time via chipset USB 2.0 pci addon card to connect absolutely any thing !. Neither AMD nor MSI responded to solution requests. The motherboard ultimately failed (after several repair trips to MSI centres) and I had no option but to replace it with one sporting nVidia chipset motherboard. Have tried installing Ubuntu several times without success. It simply won't recognise my HDMI complant TV/Monitor combo. BTW "gParted Live" does so fantastically well in this department.

I have come to a conclusion that no hardware manufacturer gives a s*** about the need of the end user. I now await ARM based implementation for desktop PC and switch to it. Hopefully it will be happy with Windows ANDS Linux.
