"Un-contract" customers enraged as T-Mobile unlocks its price-lock with new rate hikes

This is what you get for being a "loyal customer" to a corporation.

I abandoned Tmo YEARS ago after they locked down my note 4 and told me to go through a third party website, pay them $39, and see if theyd send me an unlock code.

Never looked back.
Um, everyone did that, not just Tmobile. You're angry over something EVERYONE else did and still does too? That makes no sense. Want an unlocked phone? Buy it unlocked to begin with.

Toooooot , COVID should be called an American virus because USA set up a research work on coronaviruses in a lab in Wuhan . Perhaps they unintentionally let it out .

And if you think that's the ONLY thing they are working on I have a bridge to sell you!! If they weren't working on it then the shot would have taken much longer before it was available!! Bird Flu is another thing they are working on as is half a dozen or more other things most people have never even heard of!!

Maybe the same way that "a contract that _rivels_ a novel" did?

Actually, I guess "rivel" is a real word, although it means "(chiefly Western Canadian) a very small dumpling made of a batter of butter, egg, flour, and seasoning, cooked in broth." Ya learn something every day!
Yeah. At least I can see that one getting by spell check. Thank you for the catch.

Why do some people complain of 2-5 bucks hike !? This doesnt deserve any attention . Here , the carriers just multiplied the monthly fee by the annual inflation index from the past year . It s fair enough .

Not one to pile on, but any way. Ever hear of the term "give them an inch and they'll take a mile"? They said no increases and are now back tracking on their promise. Do you really think if people don't voice their protests they'll stop there? If you do you're a very naive person...

You're correct. Funny, I posted this on my (X) Twitter page just a few hours ago. Great timing. https://x.com/DimitriosF2/status/1801329494365720722

COVID and the stupid politicians are the reason for the inflation .

exactly. Pumping money in the system inflates the price of everything. It's been non stop loan forgiveness, forgivable loans to companies. PPP...

Billions for EV stations and under 10 built. Where is all this money going.

Don't you know some "ambulance" chasing law firm is looking into the idea of another class action lawsuit.
If, and I say if, it goes into effect, look for Tmo customers to get probably 50 bucks or less, but the law fim
will rake in MILLIONS.
50 bucks?? They'd be lucky to get a $5 rebate on their next bill or something of that nature!

I live in Indonesia with population of 275 million people. over 96% of mobile phone users are prepaid subscribers (aka Pay As You Go). people from outside would think it's silly, but it's actually rather smart because you will never have this kind of "surprise fee hike".

and the nature of this PAYG service means that people can at anytime opt for another service provider (new number of course) without worrying about recurring monthly bills. this also means the service provider would think twice before doing this kind of stunt because they are all fighting each other to gain more subscribers.

A lot of Europe is like that too. The USA/Canada way of doing things is just sad.

It's called conditioning...when cell phones came along in the 80-90's, you had to "sign up" with a carrier and be "locked in". Americans still think you have to go to a carrier store to buy a phone, and of course they will "lock you in".

Yet another tech company pulls a fast one. Becoming a weekly thing.
Oh well, you all know the drill.

Scream it's not fair
Complain
Threaten to sue
You won’t sue
Give in
Grab your ankles, and T-Mobile will take it home.
Calmly wait until the next tech trash hole tells you something you paid for isn't really yours, or a promise made will be broken because, you know.
