Update old Compaq Presario CQ5306UK ethernet card

This might be a stupid question - sorry - I have a Compaq Presario CQ5306UK which has started to run slow - to speed it up Im fitting a new SSD card but also as it is next to my fibre internet router which has gigabit ethernet ports, I wanted to also add a new NIC but the PCIe cards I see on Amazon say they are 16bit - the PC is a 64 bit PC - am I over thinking it and will a 16bit NIC like this one work?

It will work. The Amazon lists it as 32bit, but who's counting anyway. It would definitely be a shame to bottleneck your fiber with a 10/100 card. Probably the best 9 bucks you will ever spend.
