Haha crap I just got my i7 950 system all cleaned up over the last few days thinking that I would finally submit and I'm a few days late! Good luck HAL!

I7 960 user here. These processors are on the edge of usability. Though there longevity has exceeded expectations in my opinion. Good luck to all.

Well, HAL really sticks out and I just love the creativity. Looks pretty clean and simple, it just needs some proper hardware for his CAD work. I'd love too see some upgrades on the case too, it would look even better. Could be a good idea for some future episode- the best potato pc mod gets the upgrade.

Kudos for creativity and good luck, Hal! I also hope that your grandma is proud how you are taking good care of the PC.

I wish I could cast a vote for everyone, but since I only have one Joshua will get it. Best of luck for all.

I'm glad of not only seeing old and underpowered systems in the series. Parting them in groups with similar specs also makes perfect sense, like that everyone has equal chances to be voted. Good luck to everyone participating!

Good luck to everyone! Even though I think Pascal's PC should deserve the upgrade, this way he and his family could enjoy the upgrade.

It was a tough choice, but Hal's PC is so creative, plus the upgrade provides great performance and future proofing too!

That may have a small bit of truth to it, the point being is that most people are picking for "oh cool case"... if we were voting on who had the coolest or not the most common of cases, then I could understand the complete lopsided voting going on... but this is suppose to be more about who's system is the most deserving and that IMH would be Joel. And I would almost hazard to bet anyone not a teenager and more tech savvy individuals would pick Joel as well. Just like last week... lopside more people voted for "cool case".

So again... I think Steve is a better choice for picking the actual winner of the upgrades and maybe he could keep the voting system but use it for a runner-up who instead wins the weekly prize he typically randomly gives out. I think that would make more sense and the person whose system actually needs the upgrade will get it. Just my 2 cents.

This is why it's fun to participate though, and there's even some discussion!

FWIW I'm 35 and I work in CAD/CAM all day, so I empathize with the HAL build quite personally. I know what it's like to try and get work done on a potato!
