Upgrading Active Directory Function level from 2003 to 2012 R2

Good Day,

I have been given the job of upgrading a Network Active Directory Functional Level from 2003 to 2012 R2.

Currently, Active Directory has two Windows 2012 servers in the same location one is the primary and one is a backup.

Replication is broken between the two servers and thnk it's because of the Functional Level.

As the servers are Server 2012 and not 2012 R2 I can find out if I can upgrade them to Functional Level 2012 R2?

Also, I am looking for any tips to help as I am not great with Active Directory upgrading.

Highly recommend googling that. My Server guy did that earlier this year and had all kinds of issues. I highly recommend getting both AD servers to 2012r2 first before trying to fix replication.

On a positive note my 2003 servers are finally all off line!
