UPS suggestion FSP vs Prolink

What is your budget and how much power was your old one rated for?

450w (PSU)

i can up my budget if required... i want to make sure it can protect my computer from lightning damage..

following features will be useful:

Surge protection, short circuit protection, over voltage etc

Here is a good power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371035

Two rules to keep in mind when choosing a power supply:

1. Never go cheap. A psu is the backbone of any system.

2. A system will pull only the power it needs so the 500 watt psu I linked you to won't over voltage your PC.

* As for surge protection get yourself a good surge protector.

Check this link out for examples: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=surge+protector I use both Cyberpower and Belkin and like them both. Keep in mind the higher the joules the more the cost but also the greater the protection.

Thanks for all the replies.. i already bought a new power supply.. :)

now im planning to invest on a good surge protector / UPS (uninterpretable power supply)
