Video card problem - maybe

I have an HP Pavilion 7950 computer. The other day when I signed on, the wallpaper and screen saver were there, but colors were all messed up. Also, I cannot get into my Display thru Control Panel. It tells me there is a Runtime Error!

What could be my problem?

yes, you have to find out what is your video card make (Nvidia, ATI, etc.)
