Inactive Virus/malware keeping programs from running correctly

I'm having trouble finding a virus/malware that is preventing programs from running correctly. Certain programs will be running in Task Manager, but will not display on the screen and then the processes cannot be ended either. I have ran several scans and no objects have been detected during those scans. This is a Windows XP machine. I have followed the 5-step process and will post the logs requested.

Can you give me an example of a "ghost" program?

You're running two AV programs, Lavasoft Ad-Watch Live! Anti-Virus and McAfee.
One of them has to go.
I suggest you uninstall Lavasoft.

iTunes and McAfee Total Protection are both acting like the "ghost" programs. I cannot get the McAfee console to come up unless I kill the agent process in task manager, which acts like its loading upon boot-up, but never completes. I installed Ad-Aware in order to have a working antivirus scan completed, but I can uninstall if necessary.

I just finished reinstalling McAfee and iTunes. I think there was an issue with the original version of McAfee because after uninstalling that it seemed to fix the issues with iTunes even before I reinstalled it. The computer as a whole seems to be running better now. Any more suggestions or do you think that was the only problem?
