Some of the 'story' is hypebole. From my reading what I can extract is that the geolocation of Kaspersky places K's clients at some degree of RISK. In other words, the nationalist tendencies of the Russian state could result in pressure on K which in turn could result in cyber penetration through the anti-malware product.

We may wish otherwise, but it is a RISK.

There is no proof of any active cyber-threat.
