Warcraft 3 TFT world editor crash

hi i own warcraft 3 with the expansion and theres a problem when i try to save/open maps in the world editor. if i try to open a map, when the browsing window appears, it's only there for 1 or 2 seconds before it closes itself and the world editor. the same happens for saving maps except it stays until i click it. the window looks like it did when it was working, except the bar that normally says name, date, etc just says N... D... T... S... each in seperate small rectangles. i have tried reinstalling warcraft 3 but that didnt fix anything. i am not making this up. i am using vista, please answer soon because i enjoy making maps a lot, and if you need more info just ask. thanks
