You’ve no doubt heard by now (no pun intended) that Apple has done away with the 3.5mm headphone jack on its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Early adopters aren’t being left out in the cold as Apple is including a set of wired EarPods with Lightning connector as well as a 3.5mm-to-Lightning dongle with each new iPhone.

The end-game here isn’t necessarily to push users towards using Lightning-equipped wired headphones but rather, wireless audio gear featuring its new W1 chip... like its own AirPods.

Early reviews from tech experts suggest they’re nice but far from perfect, but how practical will they be with everyday use? Conan O’Brien has the answer as you’ll see in the clip above. Good stuff (and likely accurate).

Found is a TechSpot feature where we share clever, funny or otherwise interesting stuff from around the web.

Ayep, I said the same thing, obvious really. On the plus side, iPhone users can choose not to dance, walk, or move around very much and there will fewer lost pairs - and, hey, if your toddlers Do happen to grab one or both of them and feed them to the gurglr machine in your bathroom, you can take heart in the fact that you are supporting such an inventive company with that paltry $160-n-change donation.. over and over.
(and the LIon battery will keep your ears warm for up to five hours..)

I'm sure they can make a lanyard to make sure they don't drop to the ground if they fall out of your ear. But, meh. Even worse if they catch fire while in your ear...

Wireless earbuds are a great idea in theory, but a terrible idea in practice.

They should attach a safety cable to them and connect the other end to the phone somehow. That way they would never get lost.

LOLOLOL :D I say connect it to the phone via a 3.5mm to make sure you don't lose them!!

With the added benefit that they won't block you from charging the phone while listening to music.
I don't know why nobody has ever thought of this before.
The only question remaining is how much to charge for such an accessory.
