Those in attendance at Maker Faire Austin last month got an opportunity to watch ArcAttack, a group that creates music using Tesla coils, perform live. As it turns out, the members of the group are also engineers that love tinkering with electricity (that’s not much of a surprise).

YouTube user Physics Girl recently paid the group a visit to check out one of their cooler gadgets – a machine that uses electromagnets which literally forces a soda can to rip itself apart. As you’ll see in the video above, it’s immensely awesome! It’s even better when viewed in super slow motion at 11,000 frames per second.

They also showcase a machine that's capable of shrinking a quarter. For an explanation of how this works, click over and read the description on YouTube.
