Weekend Open Forum: Is the demise of single-player games an exaggeration?

Single player games aren't going anywhere. They're my preference as many others here have mentioned.

I do play an occasional multiplayer game, but not a whole lot because of the ***** factor involved. Foul-mouthed young teens, bots, hackers, etc. If developers could find a fix for those, it would be a perfect world.

I don't think single-player games are becoming a thing of the past but some of the most recent games just weren't good. Making a good game takes time, skill, and dedication; putting out a title which is multiplayer focused doesn't appear to require as much of the former.

We'll need a return to what made single-player games great before we see more titles worth buying.

I'm not at all into multiplayer like a lot of the kids are. Give me a good single player experience where I can play at my own pace and I'll take it every time. I'm much more into a story than playing with a bunch of kids that just want to take your head off. That gets old real quick. Never could see much point or fun in multiplayer but hey, that's just me.
