Weird wireless issues

I am trying to connect my desktop to the wireless router via wireless usb stick.
It worked before, but right now it is giving me trouble. Here is the checklist:
- Drivers and utilities are installed and working fine. In the utility program, I am connected to the network and getting a strong signal
- I am having trouble renewing IP through Dos.

I already ran that WinSock utility and it did not help

the release/renew cycle problems (wired or wireless) point typically at the driver.

If you have the same issue for the wifi router itself

(log into the config page and relase/renew there )​

then it needs a firmware update
