Best One In A Long Time....
Well I guess at some point yesterday the Technology God's were smiling down upon me. For last night, when on my way home from the grocery store, I noticed a fairly decent computer monitor box sitting by a street side garbage bin. I slowed my car, confirmed that it appeared that this was intended to be thrown out, parked my car and walked to the box, mainly out of curiosity.
Got to it, the box was in great shape, and I thought, the box is the only thing being thrown out, there's no monitor inside the box! So I opened it, glanced down and saw a black colored monitor in it! I glanced at the box for the company it said " AG Neovo", glanced again for the size, for just looking at it the thing was big. The box said "L-W24 inch", I was like "no way"! I quickly looked around, the coast was clear, grabbed the box, squeezed it into my car and headed home.
Once home I check it out, plugged it in and the amber colored standby light came on, but instead of saying "no signal" the screen said "monitor locked, enter pass-code"! I thought no wonder someone was throwing this out, they probably forgot the darn pass-code to unlock the monitor, plus I thought that it was odd for a monitor to have a lock. So off to Google I went, I tried for hours trying to dig up something, then about 3 hours into the search I found something on someones Blog. They provided the universal AG Neovo pass-code, now this was a real "B-Word" to do, had to use the 5 buttons on the front in a certain pattern, reminded of some attack combo codes on a Playstation 2 controller.
About the third or fourth try I got it, the monitor unlocked. I hooked it up to the blue colored analog connector on the side of my laptop, turned the laptop on and whoolaa the computer automatically turned off the built in LCD monitor and was using the external one!
I got it's resolution set at 1280 x 1024, real sweet looking! Also to add a cherry on top of this hot fudge sundae I pulled out my Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard combo kit, hooked it up to the laptop and put the laptop in hiding, now at my recliner I have a mega monitor, keyboard and mouse, looks real clean on my small little side table.
But enough with all that, to break this monitor in proper, I just put the finishing touches on a new desktop look for the laptop. I spent about an hour and a half on this, mostly putting time in trying to color match everything as so it can all be "themed".
Here it is folks..............
If anyone out there wants to try and recreate something like this the following is all one would need.

The Bisigi Theme Package For Ubuntu
There are two ways to go about securing yourself these theme packs.
(1) Click on the provided link and it will take you to a web based download for it.
http://www.bisigi-project.org/?page_id=6&lang=en
(2) Go into Ubuntu's "Software Center" and type to word "Bisigi" in the search engine, it will pop up!
I'm using the "BALANZAN" theme.
Oxy-Mouse Custom Theme Package
Place this code inside the "Terminal" to get the Oxy-Mouse Theme Package.
"
sudo apt-get install oxygen-cursor-theme oxygen-cursor-theme-extra"
I'm using the Oxy-Orange colored mouse pointer.
Cairo-Dock (OpenGL Hardware accelerated dock program)
Can be found by two ways..
(1) Click on the provided link and select a version.
http://developer.berlios.de/project/showfiles.php?group_id=8724
(2) Click on the Ubuntu Software Center and type "Cairo" it will pop up!
I was able to import most of the icons that make up the Balanzan theme pack to the dock's icon file folder, no adjustments needed, they share the same format.
And lastly, the wallpaper was something I found while trolling Desktop Nexus. If you like the wallpaper, and think you would ever use it, I'm providing a direct link to it, for I'm not going to post an image at it's max is 1280 x 1024 on this site, that's crazy, dial up people would hate me!
Here's the wallpaper link...

Well that's it, this one was a task to do, but it was way fun, haven't had this much fun with an Ubuntu customization in a good long time, plus having this thrown out monitor helped motivate me!
Hope you all like this one!
