What does your desktop look like?

Me too. Never was able to put it down once I started. Sadly, I haven't had a chance for a reading marathon since around last year.

Thought I'd do a bit of an update on my desktop. I got bored of staring at the same wallpaper all day so recently created some more, and now rotate every 15 mins between 7 different ones. One of them (possibly two actually) have been uploaded to this thread before, but the rest are new -- to me anyway.

Must admit I can't imagine why I didn't think to do this before. lol.

Do you know where I can grab these at 1920x1080? Your res is very squished when I fill the whole screen. I love nature and city shots. Nice wall papers!

Aye, that'll be 3600x1080 pixels for you. haha.

Unfortunately, I can't remember where I got them from, but I do know it was from a website that purely had multi-display wallpapers. Most of them were actually 5000+ pixels wide, and I had to photoshop them to get them to fit my resolution properly.

All three of my desktops. Definitely need to find a better icon pack, though.

Interfacelift.com has a good selection of sizes and high quality free wallpapers.

I just rebuilt my work desktop so I might as well post that

I run a 24" in landscape and a 22" in portrait.

Whoa, that's Rainmeter! I used to have it covering nearly all the real-estate of my Windows desktop before I made the move to x64.

Yep - I still use it for a few things but I like to keep it simple now. Only thing missing from the default illustro theme was a foobar module.

Even I prefer the illustro theme, only thing it lacks is a temperature monitor, which is why I combine it with Enigma and HUD.

Hmmm... maybe I'll write a temperature module for illustro if it's not too difficult.

It's been a while, I've been like real busy, but I took some time tonight and let my mind drift with a little creativity in regards to my laptop.

Hope you all like it! :)

I don't like it... I love it. Just wait till my kids get a little older. You just need to disappear your start button and task bar and convert the health bubble to your start button via some third party app. Maybe even place the Date/Time and/or systray in the mana bubble with Rainmeter.

Well now, thanks Papa for all the love here with this one! Now a day's compliments for my customizations are hard to come by! I might just take some of your suggestions to heart. I have Rainmeter, both the program and about 150 config's on a USB flash drive, I just might have to think about installing it. I was just trying to keep this current build lean, no extra anything. But maybe auto hiding the lower taskbar is in order, show of more of the wallpaper! If I do anything more with this one I will make sure to post it! :)

Well I may have indeed posted a lot of my custom desktops here, that's the truth, but this one is sort of a first! As some may know I have posted some new happenings in regards to my new founded adventures with my laptop computing.

Here's the gist of what I'm talking about.....
https://www.techspot.com/community/topics/new-adventures-with-laptop-computing.182799/

This custom desktop if the first I created on my new Samsung 44 inch LCD HD Television. To be honest, it was more simple to create a custom desktop on this TV than most of the times on my regular computer monitor. Seeing that this thing is front and center in my living room, I had to practice the art of restraint by not going all sexy juicy here. I had to keep a level of class and beauty with this one, for some of my past works wouldn't fly on this new setup, especially if close friends or worse, family walked in to see some half dressed or not dressed woman on my screen...............damn it, where's the remote, quick, got to turn off the TV! :) lol

Well here it is.......

Thank Gosh I found a Rainmeter skin that I can actually see from across my living room, I don't have to squint and strain my eyes to see it, like I did with several others I tried out. Found a pretty close to matching Rocket Dock skin and icons that comes close to the Rainmeter skin. And of course the wallpaper is that of the hot and classy Hollywood actress Keira Knightley!

I hope you all like this one, a little bit more upscale than some of my previous submissions, but very much living room approved! :)

I generally like to have a more 'simplistic' desktop. Yesterday, I ended up having to replace my DV6's HDD with a new one, and have to go through restoring everything again ..... anyway, here is the 'newish' look of my DV6 desktop. Only thing I dislike about it is, that damn start button.

Archean : I hate to report, but it looks like were suffering from a broken link to the image your trying to show off here! I'm just getting that old classic "red X" thing! Also I'm sorry to hear about having to go through the whole restoring things thing, but it sounds like to me you had something to restore something off of, like maybe a back up drive, so all should be by now all smiles! :) And I'm going to take a wild guess, but by your avatar image, I suspect you might be hip deep into using a Linux product, if so I don't have any advise about start buttons there. But if your sporting any of the various Windows products, simple fix to that sticking out like a sore thumb start button.........simple thing........."hide the taskbar"!
