What graphics card will run well on my PC in £120 price range?

Hi all,

I am shortly upgrading my PSU to a 650w Corsair model. Bearing in mind my PCs specs which aren't great (old CPU/Motherboard) and it only runs PCI-E 1.1 I was wondering what a good choice of graphics card would be. I want to achieve as good a performance as possible in terms of gaming. I dont really use my PC for much else so its only with gaming in mind.

I don't want to upgrade my board and CPU and have about £120 to spend on the graphics card. Any recommendations for my specific spec of PC?

If you can push it up by a fiver you can get a HD6870, which is about the best your going to get for your budget.

Its a very capable mid range GPU.

Thanks, somebody else mentioned the the 6850 too which is very similar but looks like the 6870 has the edge. Looks really good. We may have a winner. Thanks so much for advice.

Aye, that's the next one down from the HD6870. The latter is better. Its perfect at your pricepoint.

I use one myself, as does my brother in his gaming rig.
