Try this:

Run Kaspersky Online AV Scanner

In order to use it you have to use Internet Explorer.
Go to Kaspersky and click the Accept button at the end of the page.

Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the accept button of the licence, click on the Zoom tool located at the right bottom of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license accepted, reset to 100%.
  • Read the Requirements and limitations before you click Accept.
  • Allow the ActiveX download if necessary.
  • Once the database has downloaded, click Next.
  • Click on "My Computer"
  • When the scan has completed, click Save Report As...
  • Enter a name for the file in the Filename: text box and then click the down arrow to the right of Save as type: and select text file (*.txt)
  • Click Save - by default the file will be saved to your Desktop, but you can change this if you wish.
Attach the report into your next reply

Thank you so much Kim, I got it to open up and now it isn't able to update the database. I am going to try again in the morning because it is now 2:30am and I need to sleep, but I will run everything over in the morning until I get it to come up clean and then I will try again.

Hi KandKsMama

D/L Daft to repair file associations http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic182503.html

Then open SAS click Preferences-Repairs then run everything except the two Reset clock entries.

Reboot.

D/L Xclean_Micro http://www.xblock.com/download/xclean_micro.exe
No install, just run it delete all it finds decline to reboot on each item found, until the program finishes then reboot.

Xclean will run minimized and will pop up a window if it finds anything. If it finds nothing it will exit.

Please make a note of what it found if any as it has no log.

Go here get and run Joe Pestro's Malware Remover http://majorgeeks.com/Malware_Removal_Tool_d4632.html
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Get and run
http://majorgeeks.com/Prevx_CSI_-_FREE_Malware_Scanner_d5785.html

All of the above run and finish quickly none no where near the time it takes to run full MBAM or SAS Scans.

Mike

I ran all of the above and they all came up clean. Kim I am now about to work on getting my scans to run clean (MBAM & SAS) and going to try again, but last I checked still tells me I can't update the database.

Yes thanks Kim I see it now.

I think it should be run again now that we have fixed other issues. If the Fixes folder is still on the desktop no need to re download, just enter Fixes folder and run Fixit.cmd.

Additionally go to Start-Run and type
combofix/u
hit enter or click OK.

Then download a new current ComboFix and run again. The last one had deletions I would like to see that it is still gone.

Mike
