What's the best thing you've ever won in a contest or giveaway?

I won a raffle at a movie theater back in 2004 and received a copy of the "Shark Tale" video game. I brought it to walmart and exchanged it for Halo.

$500 at our lady of peace catholic church in darien, il at bingo. Only entered 10 times at $10 each, net $400. They no longer have that bingo due to no volunteers. Weird that the only catholic church in silicon valley is our lady of peace also, which I went to at one time too. Used it to buy microsoft mcse books and windows server software, which I never got into and learned there were free trial editions of windows server (might not have been at that time.)

A Galaxy Tab 4 8".

Also 10 steam games at once:
Assassins creed 1, 2, brotherhood and revelations.
Batman Arkham City and Arkham Asylum.
Skyrim, Serious Sam 3, GTA 4 and Modern Warfare 3

At VMWorld 2008, I entered a drawing for a Gears of War themed Xbox 360 at the Microsoft Booth on the vendor floor, and won! If you want to consider slot machines a 'contest' then that prize is no longer the 'best' prize I've won in a 'contest' ;)

After being a member of a forum for two days I entered a contest and won 2nd place out of 4000 entries and won $500 worth of "hardware". The outrage from senior members of 3 years or more that I won was grand. After that the rules were changed so no one that new could be on equal footing with someone that had dedicated more time to the forum.

That's the kinda crap wrong with this country

I can honestly say, I've never won anything worth even bothering to try and remember.

Now that I think about it, that could be why I'm such an embittered, nasty, mean spirited, vitriol tongued, crotchety old man.

@Shawn Knight Shawn, thanks for posting this devious little piece of click bait! (y) You'll never know the extent of the emotional breakthrough it has helped me to accomplish. I think I've had a virtual therapeutic epiphany.

Now if you'll excuse me for a few moments while I alleviate my overabundance of joy by changing my underpants, I'll be back for more fun and frolic momentarily....:)

Cheer up! Judging by the syntax, at least it probably wasn't this forum.

When life gives me lemons, it seems it concurrently gives Beyonce lemons as well. This motivates her to write an album about making lemonade. Which in turn saves me ten bucks or so, since I'll never in a million years, buy a Beyonce album. ;)

I won a Radeon 5850 from TechSpot and that was certainly one of the best, although I think that the Radeon 3870 signed by Gabe Newell tops that, if only because it's signed by Gaben. The 5850 was in use by the son of a colleague of mine until recently (got replaced by a GeForce 1060), so it certainly served for many years.

I've genuinely never won, I've entered plenty of competitions but I've never won. I reckon I've pissed off someone high up and now I'm on some sort of black list so I can never win free stuff xD

Relax, nobody "of a higher authority), is mad at you. Online contests present people with a 100% opportunity to give away a bunch of personal information, a 100% chance of being spammed in the process, and a 0% chance of winning. That's where you paranoia and self preservation instincts should be centered.

I won a $100 gift certificate for a restaurant in Long Island. I still have it. Haven't planned on getting out there yet.

This one is easy, I'm the lucky reader who who the XPS and monitor! lol
Easier the most expensive contest I've won.

A kayak with paddle and life-jacket at my work's Safety Fair. I stood watching them draw names and was saying to my boss, "I just want one of the (2) kayaks." The person drawing names had no idea who it was, until I started jumping up and down celebrating :)

How about the ONLY thing I have ever won, and that was 45 years ago ! Maybe I should enter another competition ;-)

I won a glass of margarita - it was actually a bartending competition and they auctioned off the drinks. A gentleman won the bidding for the glass of margarita at $300 and gave it to me :) made me feel like a winner :)

Only thing I ever won was a copy of the QNX operating system. It was years ago and I recall it being quite good.

Best thing I've every won was a Puget Systems computer in a recent EVGA Scavenger Hunt Contest...and before that, I won a custom-built computer from HotHardware...and before that I won a computer in a Zalman forum contest...and in between I won a Toshiba laptop, a Galaxy Note 3, an LG-G4, an ASUS GTX 660ti, and, just last week, a ZOTAC GTX 1060. Oh, and I won a Biostar HiFi Z77X motherboard, a (rare) Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD7TH motherboard and an absolutely insane Intel Core i7-5960X CPU. I've won a lot of other stuff, but this is starting to sound ridiculous. I clearly have a "problem" that other people would love to have. :)

I won a weeks all expenses paid holiday to Jamaica with Sandals through a Tropicana contest. also got a years worth of Tropicana orange juice, needed all that orange juice to recover from all the free booze on the holiday.
