Windows 10 Upgrade

Is it true that Microsoft will allow users of windows 7 and 8.1 to upgrade to 10 for free?

No! MS would be crazy to do that. They will never upgrade every machine released over a 5 year period for free. If they were going to allow free updates, they wouldn't have changed the name from Windows 8 series. Changing the name gives them the opportunity to charge everyone again.

It's likely to be a good deal though. Microsoft need to get a lot of customers back onside.
