Love reading the comments here and can agree with many. So off topic and hope this is okay, but what's your fave version of Windows? I started with Win 3.1 in '93 and upgraded to every other version since including the totally hellscape of Win ME. I skipped Vista and 8 and understand I didn't miss anything. Personally I loved XP because it worked great and I used it for years with very little problems. My fave has to be Windows 7. To me it was the smoothest, best looking and customizable OS that MS ever created. I wish we could go back to those days. Who knows? One can believe right?

None of these updates seem the least exiciting to me. Debloating, better performance, real usability and configuration improvements... nothing of that in these notes.

This is what an average Linux desktop point release would bring.

Also, more copilos, ffs.

Agree. for me 2026 has been The Year for Linux.
Oh, I still have a couple of Windows devices. I turn them on for Patch Tuesday... when I remember to. (Oh, that's today. Hmmm... To Do, or Not To Do.)

Anyone with an OLED has had to go to third party software to not let the taskbar cause burn in. Glad MS finally came to their senses.

Way to go Microsoft -- You got a shiny new ARM64 platform, some momentum building on the consumer side and here you are putting your new platform on the backburner for a year before it catches up with regular Windows features? Is it that hard to keep X64 and ARM64 Windows feature aligned?
