I could not believe this. Someone paid or is a fanboi. Defender in my experience is the worst. So many computers infected beyond repair with this thing enabled have passed trough my hands that you will cry if I tell you.

I think you misunderstand the purpose of an anti-virus. It is to remove identified malicious code from a system. It does not protect against active attackers let alone governments.
Counter intuitive, given the name "ANTI-VIRUS". Today, there are Proactive AV programs to actually prohibit the virus from getting installed :) You might recall that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! Without a proactive methodology, these first decade programs should be known as VR virus-removal tools.

Yes, there are no tools on the PC to protect the Router -- it's external to the PC and you need another approach.
