I have a vaio vgnsz460n and recently, it just completely shut down. The DOS screen shows, but afterwards, it will not continue into Windows. I cannot even access the vaio recovery center. Recently I purchased the recovery discs, and often, the computer does not even recognize the disc is in there. On the times that the computer does recognize the disc, I can get into vaio recovery center. However, when I attempt to restore the complete system, I get an error message "could not select disk." Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong, and what I might be able to do to fix it?

Be sure that your optical drive is set ahead of your HDD on the boot sequence in your BIOS to boot off of the CDs.
