Windows explorer won't start...

well no...every time i try to start up the windows cd i get a different blue screen error everytime, saying its a different problem....and trying to start it up anyway, safe mode, last good configuration or regularly, auto restarts....
 
unplug all components, except cd, hdd, video card and ram. try to install the os. if you have success, try to add components one at a time to find out what causes the problem.
 
well a little over a year later, my wife's sister's laptop had the same original problem. Luckily I found a solution without having to resort to re-installing windows. I used CCleaner, and under the advanced section, I had everything checked except hotfix uninstallers and custom files and folders. ran the cleaner. Afterwards restarted and the explorer started fine with the desktop showing up fine as well.
