i was using xp when it froze now i rebooted laptop and xp wont start i can get into safe mode but how do i fix this problem

Tonight i got into xp i did virus scan it went ok then it froze i rebooted by removing battery then it went into xp then froze imedetaly why

Your drive might have an error or you are infected with some viruses. Boot into safe mode and use check disk utility to scan for file system errors on your HDD.

what AV did you use to scan for viruses?

nod 32 now i am defraging hdd then im going to check for errors thank you

When using ccleaner, clean files and then scan registry.

tuneup utilities is a good registry cleaner too
and avast AV is a (born to kill) program
i use it and its the best if u ask me
u can download the trials from there official sites like : www.avast.com and www.tune-up.com
or take it with registers from torents sites (i like these more)

It cannot always be good. It alters some registry keys and windows settings and can sometimes make windows unstable. It is not always good to use it.
