Windows root system32 ntoskrnl.exe

Ok my computer is a Dell Inspiron 14 with windows vista premium 64 bit. Im trying to expand the file but its not allowing me to get ntoskrnl.exe and I have a Recovery drive that has the same file in it should i just use recovery drive or should i use E?

Recovery Drive

Try the recovery drive. Then try E. Then repair. Then reformat and reinstall.
