And since what ever it was the my laptop got and deleted my drivers for my wireless, I can not go onto the internet. Everything IO have done so far is from saving the programs/logs to a jump drive from my desktop, then plugged into my laptop. Any suggestions how to get the wirless stuff working again? When rt click on the LAN icon on the bottom by the clock, and choose "Network Connectinos" , the wireles option doesnt even show, just LAN.

havent tried it, dont think I'll be able to. The modem/router is in my roomates room, and they work most nights. I'm going to see if DL them from the HP website onto my jump drive will work.

Let's check something...

Please download MiniToolBox, save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark following boxes:
  • Report IE Proxy Settings
  • Report FF Proxy Settings
  • List content of Hosts
  • List IP configuration
  • List Winsock Entries
  • List last 10 Event Viewer log
  • List Devices (do NOT change any settings)
  • List Users, Partitions and Memory size
Click Go and post the result.

I cant even do a system restore. When I try it, it runs through then I get a message that says that system restore could not restore to xx-xx-xx. Press ...... Any reasons why?

Also, when trying to go through and remove the webcam programs via " Add or Remove Programs" I get an error message that reads "setup.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close...." I have the options for debug, send errore report, or dont send. I have been getting this message ever since this whole internet thing disappeared. Even if I click "debug" I still get the same response...????

MiniToolbox "Could not list devices."
Do you have any errors in Device Manager especially regarding network adapters?

Im not sure how I would know....what would I do to check that? I obviously have one..its a laptop, and I had working internet on the evening of aug 8. It was the morning of the 9th that it "disappeared"...?? I tried installing the drivers for my laptop (hp dv6105us) and nothing appears but my LAN

Go Start>Run. Type in:
devmgmt.msc
Click OK.

Device Manager will open.
Do you see any exclamation or question marks there?

ther eare neither an exclamation or question mark. I dont see a wireless thing at all nothing like 802.11g. Just a NVIDIA nForce networking controller. Sorry if my last post came across as arrogant, I didnt mean for it to come across that way.

I dont see a wireless thing at all
I suspect you may some issue with laptop's wireless adapter.
Even if there was something wrong with a driver the device should be listed.

But this is out of the scope of this forum.

You're very welcome
