X56 AMD B650 Motherboard Roundup: VRM Thermals and Then Some

If I get the gist of this article correctly, the Gigabyte B650 AORUS Elite AX V2 is one of the boards that are leading the pack. Not bad, I have the older V1 version myself and it's an amazing board.

I not upgrading right now, but I think for "power" users the latest wifi, BT, most bandwidth etc is a must. If I get Zen 6 or a 3D Zen5 ( unless intel has something amazing ,5% better Intel can stuff off ) . But year I'm getting the board with the most M2. Would never buy one of those god boards , seem like overkill .
Flipside review useful for a great budget build if picked up last years 3D chip at a bargain , plus some cheap DD5. Imagine you would have a cracker PC , add in a Bargain AMD topline GPU , just $1500 all up for an incredibly fast powerful PC . losing only in ray tracing ( you wouldn't buy a RTX 4090 mostly likely on a cheap but good board )

I cannot believe the prices for what is basically are 4th tier boards You have the X670E then the X670 then the B650E and then this group is overpriced, to say the least. Board manufacturers are trying to rape you folks wake up.

Yeah also Asrock and Gigabyte have x670e motherboards that are in the mid $200 with great user reviews.

4.9 user reviews although out of 20 people cost almost 2/3 cost of the B650e Aurus master.

Thanks for the helpful reviews. I do have one question. You specifically call out the Gigabyte B650M Gaming as a less desirable board. Wiah I saw this 2 weeks ago. That said,

The board I bought is actually a Gigabyte "B650M GAMING PLUS WIFI".

I don't know if it is the same board and I didn't find any link to the board you tested. I was hoping to clarify if it is indeed the same board. In that case I may replace it.

Your help is appreciated!

Nice job. It would have been nice to add what the form factor is, also, a table or even a gsheets or xls file to download so that we can use it to do our own research (prices in our countries).

What would be the cheapest mATX worth buying? It appears to be the Gigabyte B650M Aorus Elite AX at 175 eur. Also, did you text mATX on the same PC as the ATX ones? I see the Asrock B650 Pro RS (ATX) does 61°C while the Asrock B650M Pro RS (mATX) does 87°C, or 26° more!

Another thing that I find weird is that the Gigabyte B650M Aorus Elite AX clock in at 55°C, while the supposedly same board but white, the Gigabyte B650M Aorus Elite AX Ice clocks in at 66°C. If anything, black should be hotter, or am I missing something here?

I'm evaluating to buy a GIGABYTE B650M Gaming Plus WiFi AM5, but I did not see it in the chart.
Is it safe to say that performance (in terms of temperature) would be the same as the GIGABYTE B650M Gaming WiFi?
Things are not looking good for this mobo.

Did you buy this board? That's the same one I'm evaluating.
