Hey everybody,
I've been watching the unboxed series and now inspired to upgrade my computer. I've got a legit question. I'm running a Xeon X5650 @4.0ghz with a GTX 680 2gb overclocked to its max. Will I be able to get the most out of a GTX 1070 (around the $550AUD) mark, or is it more efficient with a GTX 1060 6gb ($360)?

I've seen on YouTube that x5650 at 4.0 ghz, can still pull solid 60+ fps for Ultra 1440p on a GTX 1070.
Seems like OCed it still stands strong with current gen CPUs

I think the upgrade to the gtx 1070 makes sense. When you will upgrade the rest of system down the line you won't need to replace the gpu. In worst case gaming scenarios x5650 seems to be close to sandy bridge i5 lineup which doesn't dramatically bottleneck a gtx 1070. Anyway both of them are better than gtx 680 in any cases so even the upgrade to the freaking gtx 1050 is welcome..

Thanks, yeah you're right about that. I think there's a slight bottleneck. Plus I can keep the GPU for the next platform.
Probably buy it when I have some spending cash and time to play.
