XP second user inaccessible

HELP!

i used my laptop only a couple hours ago and it was fine. but now it only lets me log into one of my two user accounts.

the files are all still there, but when i try to switch users it just defaults back to my main one, they are both admin accounts.

what to do?

actually its not inaccessible as i previously stated. but instead of just switching users with the icons on the start screen i actually have to go to the logon screen and type the name of the other user and click ok before it will open the 2nd account.

so they're both working but for some reason FSU isnt working.

i've gone into user accounts/change the way users log on or off reset the check boxes manually and restarted in between each, after clicking 'apply settings.'

but its starting to drive me a bit nuts...

Which version of windows are you running?

look at the services to ensure FUS is running.

Run->Services.msc

yeah FUS is running. it was on manual for some reason but running. so i switched it to auto anyway.

running xp pro.

are there any other dependent services or anything?
