Your TS name and why you chose it

Well, about 4 years ago (when I was only 12 years old) I was flipping thru a Nintendo Power magazine. I was reading an article about Kirby64, and it listed various powers kirby could have. One of the powers gave kirb a lightning sword, and the picture was titled "Darth Kirby". I think that's where I got it...that was quite a while ago. But anyway, I thought the name was cool, so I used it for my Starcraft accout. Ever since then, due to lack of creativity or better ideas, I just kept that name for all other online games I played and forums I signed up on.

Although I did make one minor change recently, on the Star Wars: Galaxies chat room, I am known as DarthKirby007 (or DK007) for short. :D

Heheheh I like it :) I used to play Kirby games on my Game Boy when I was around that age as well.

Very good guess that Noodle Soup.. wrong though..

Actually I'm desperately trying to figure out a good explanation for my nick to use on forums because the truth is quite silly..

I've heard Nodsu is a Japanese name so if I find some cool Japanese hero or general or samurai named Nodsu, I'll let you know. ;)

I was thinking about choosing Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli or Chalmeccacihuatl, but then I decided "The Lord of the Dead" is cooler than "Dawn Lord" or "The Sacrificer" :p

I don't know.. The Sacraficer has a certain degree of coolness to it as well. ;)

For me, very simple : I tried to choose a word that will be related with the comp world and could melt with my first name. So I thought about DIGITAL + ALEX :)

Well I picked my nickname when I was signing up for a hotmail account back in 1999. Most of the names I had picked were taken so I just chose the one they had suggested to me, hence prashidi. So I guess I owe my nickname to hotmail.com :)

Well, my name is pretty common sense if you know anything about drugs. Acid = LSD. One way a person takes Acid/LSD is by mouth, the chemicals sort of seep into your tongue then into your blood stream. Thus the "osmosis" part of the deal.

Acid Osmosis.... almost sounds like a technical term.

and no it isn't pro-nounced A-seed-oz-moz-is
or a-seed-oz-om-us or anything like that.
It's ***-ID-Oz-M(oh)-sis...

some people just can't seem to understand the word Osmosis..
sheesh...

[acidosmosis]

Maybe you should consider not taking that stuff - it can't be doing you much good. :p

Ha.

Isn't Nodsu some odd spelling of the word 'piglet' in Estonian? Didn't you get it from Winnie the Pooh??? :D

LOL

You have a good imagination Veh.. Now I will have to kill you for finding out my secret :p

haha, I actually never took Acid. When I was in colllege I was really wanting to try it and talked to my roommate about getting some because he knew someone, but then I moved back home before we were able to track the guy down ;-). I have no desire to do anything like that anymore so I haven't tried it :)

»ungua« is from a garfield-comic. they went out eating and only see ungua on the menue. john asks the waiter what this ungua is, »oh, well, very nice meat« - he interrupts himself screaming »iiieh, an ungua« jumping and killing some animal on the floor. i liked the name somehow... :D

regards,
ungua

Mine means exactly what it is. I am infatuated with Star Wars and as a child I was always mesmerized by how Luke could make his lightsaber come to him by using his mind, and by how he could make C-3PO float. Plus I wanted one of those cool silver things with a long glowing blue stick at the end... (lightsabers for those who have no idea what I'm talking about). And lastly, I always wanted to be in Star Wars movies when I was little and I wanted to be the first girl Jedi. I am not a tomboy, by the way.

JW, I notice you have an iMac. That's not something a Jedi would want to be seen with. :D

LOL Nic, if I were a Jedi, I would get myself a P4 with HT technology; perhaps even a Centrino notebook? What's the world coming to - Jedi's with iMACs :haha::haha: .

"Ya, but a droid won't pull your arms of of their sockets if they lose. Wookies are known to do that."

Read my post about taking a sledgehammer to my iMac and you will know that I do not want to be seen w/ it/ If I could upgrade to a Dell, or anything else, I would. But currently this Jedi is broke. At least it matches the color of my lightsaber...... ;)

What's in your screen name?

At the risk of being ridiculed and labelled as corny...I had an idea:

How about using this thread to tell everyone how you came about choosing your screen name, or what it means etc? Some of ours will be blatantly obvious, but anyone should feel free to post, regardless.

Just an idea...I know I am curious about some of your screen names...

"lowman" is part of the name of one of Metallica's songs (Lowman's Lyric off "ReLoad")...I am not crazy about their latest stuff...but I like what that song in particular is about...

That's my 2 cents...anybody else?

my screenname, somekid007 is straight forward. i am some kid on the internet that you dont know, and i tacked on 007 jus incase somekid was already taken

mine comes partly from that "smoky and the bandit" movie and cause i love the snow, i own a quad and a snowmobile, and use them most when it snows.

AcidOsmosis;

Acid: A crystalline compound, derived from lysergic acid and used as a powerful hallucinogenic drug.

Osmosis: a) A gradual, often unconscious process of assimilation or absorption. b) Diffusion of fluid through a semipermeable membrane from a solution with a low solute concentration to a solution with a higher solute concentration until there is an equal concentration of fluid on both sides of the membrane.
