Comic-Con 2013 is now in the history books but if you still have a yearning for all things geeky, YouTube has you covered. The popular video destination is preparing to host its inaugural YouTube Geek Week starting August 4 through the 10th.

What exactly can one expect during the seven-day event? We’re told that YouTube will be promoting their top geek channels, highlighting a different channel each day.

FreddieW, the person behind the "Video Game High School" series, will host "Blockbuster Sunday," a celebration of characters that define geek culture. YOMYOMF will get the work week started with "Global Geekery Monday," highlighting anime from Tokyo, comic-book heroes from Delhi and the BBC television series "Doctor Who." Veritasium and The Spangler Effect will host "Braniac Tuesday," a day dedicated to some of the best science and education channels.

"Super Wednesday" will get under way with Stan Lee's World of Heroes, and keep your eyes peeled for a sneak peek at the trailer for Marvel's upcoming film "Thor: The Dark World." Machinima and Maker Studios' Polaris will take viewers on a video game adventure like no other with videos inspired by gaming on "Gaming Thursday." Sci-fi-themed cooking, incredible cosplay and impassioned nerd debates are headed your way on “Fan Friday” as YouTube's biggest fans take center-stage.

YouTube launched a similar marketing campaign earlier this year known as Comedy Week. That event, which featured performances from some of the industry’s top comedians and funny YouTube channels, resulted in a 100 percent increase in subscriptions for participating creators. With any luck, Geek Week could be just as successful and become an annual event.
