Samsung this evening announced that its upcoming Android tablet, the Galaxy Tab, will be available through all four major US carriers: Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. The 7-inch slate features a 1024x600 display, Android 2.2, a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 512MB of RAM, as well as front and rear-facing cameras for video calls or simply capturing images.
Those specs should be shared across all four carrier models, however, Sprint's version is rumored to have support for WiMAX connectivity. Other differences will mostly come down to preloaded software, such as AT&T Radio, Verizon's V Cast music store and so on. Neither Samsung or any of the providers have mentioned a launch date apart from ambiguities like "in the coming weeks."
The same goes for pricing, but you can expect all four telecom giants to offer deeply subsidized packages. There's also word of a model that forgoes WWAN access and data contracts, shipping with only Wi-Fi connectivity.
Update: As it turns out, Sprint's model will be 3G-only.
